Part-Time Accountant (Auckland-Based – Tagalog Speaking)

Position: Part-Time Accountant
Hours: Flexible – approx. 15–25 hours per week
Apex Accountancy Limited is growing in Auckland, and we’re looking for a part-time accountant to join our supportive team. The ideal candidate will have solid accounting experience and fluency in Tagalog and English, as many of our clients are Filipino business owners who prefer to communicate in Tagalog.
This flexible role may suit professionals who are returning to the workforce, looking to reduce hours, or seeking better work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare GST returns and financial statements
- Process payroll and file PAYE returns
- Reconcile accounts and manage coding in Xero
- Prepare income tax returns (individuals and companies)
- Communicate with clients in both English and Tagalog
- Provide general accounting support and advisory services
What We’re Looking For:
- CPA or CA qualified (or working towards it)
- At least 3 years of accounting experience in New Zealand, preferably in public practice
- Proficient in Xero
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused attitude
- Fluency in Tagalog and English, due to the language needs of our client base
- A genuine desire to support small businesses in their growth
